The G.B. Neuro-Oncology Alliance is a Jamaica-based non-profit philanthropic initiative, founded in 2025 by Angilee Baboram, a Jamaican, established to promote informed awareness and thoughtful dialogue in the area of neuro-oncology, with particular emphasis on brain metastases.
Brain metastases (Brain Mets), represent the most common intracranial tumors encountered in clinical practice, yet they remain comparatively underrepresented in public education, patient-facing resources, and regional health discussions. Their complexity, spanning oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, radiation medicine, and palliative care, often places patients and families at the intersection of multiple disciplines, where clarity and accessible information are critically needed.
This initiative was formed to contribute to that space by supporting knowledge translation from established clinical and scientific literature into clear, responsible, and human-centered communication. Its current focus is on awareness-building and information sharing, informed by peer-reviewed research, reputable clinical resources, and patient-centered perspectives, while remaining mindful of the limitations of a non-clinical, early-stage platform.
Although brain metastases are the Alliance’s primary area of attention, it also acknowledges primary brain tumors, cancer-related neurological sequelae, and other diseases affecting the central nervous system, recognizing the shared diagnostic, therapeutic, and psychosocial challenges across these conditions.
“Awareness in neuro-oncology is both a clinical necessity and a philanthropic responsibility, where progress is defined not only by medicine, but by the reach of education, understanding, and the dignity afforded to every affected life.”

Our Passion
Guided by philanthropic intent and respect for scientific rigor, the G.B. Neuro-Oncology Alliance seeks to:
-
Enhance public understanding of brain metastases and related neuro-oncological conditions
-
Translate scientific knowledge into accessible, compassionate information
-
Encourage informed discussion among patients, families, and healthcare professionals
-
Foster a culture of empathy, dignity, and evidence-based awareness in communities affected by brain-related cancers
-
Reduce stigma and misunderstanding.
Its long-term vision is to contribute meaningfully to dialogue between patients, clinicians, and communities, and to support greater visibility for brain-related cancers that too often remain at the margins of public attention.
